you are not old and outdated. Let everyone else be disillusioned by today's crap. I am sorry, but Lincoln Park, Staind, My Chemical Romance does not have the staying power of Led Zeppelin, Petty, Clapton and Floyd. I do not see a teenager trying to learn a My Chemical Romance song on the guitar 15 years from now. 15 years from now, there will still be that 16 year old kid being exposed to Hendrix for the 1st time and will get blown away. You have much better taste. You are ahead of the game. Let MTV tell them what sounds good. They do not have to think for themselves when MTV/Corporations force feed you this modern garbage.

Dude, listen to what you like. Who cares what other people think. Trust me, I get made fun of a lot when I'm driving around and cranking Motley Crue but I love them so I don't give a damn. Tom Petty, Eric Clapton, Floyd, without these people. music would never be where it is now. Just because it older doesn't mean it's not great music.

I cant belive that Def Leppard is considered "classic rock". I love 8-'s and 90's but not so big on most 70's and older

Hey, I'm 41 and I love classic rock, especially from the 70's. Those were really good times and I remember how I felt back then when I listen to that music now. My teenage daughter, though, is just now digging it. She thinks she is turning me on to Pink Floyd, Chicago, Ozzy Osborne, etc.

As a 40 something year old classic rock bassist , with a classic rock band now ,I'd say do what makes you feel good . There's a lot of classic rock music that will always be timeless ,but a lot less of the newer music will be timeless .

You can listen to whatever the he!! you want. That's why it's out there.

I listen to all types of rock from all countries and decades... I would get enraged if anyone told me I Can't listen to 60's stuff because it's 40 years old. And so far none of my friends have done so becaue really, everyone has some bands from that time they like, usually through their fathers.

Not me. That's the good stuff. The music today, like rap, is junk. Check out The Greatful Dead. I just saw Eric Clapton in Boston, MA 2 weeks ago. I was in the 4th row. It was great !!

That's why it's called classic. In 10 years, the music that they listen to now will be gone. But you know what, the classics you refer to will still be played. They never outgrow their appeal. I say to consider the opinions that you are listening to. If they are near your age, then they don't know as much as they think they know. I like your music. You have an ear beyond your years.

I think you are ahead of your peers. Congrats. While all your friends are listening to the newest song from Fall OUt BOy or whatever, you are listening to something real and worthwhile. Give your friends a few years and they'll start to appreciate classic rock too.
