How do actors and actress do a sex seen or a heavy kissing that looks so intense on screen but walk away fine? I mean how can you not have romantic feels after that?

In my experience, actors tend to recognize that while a love scene will conjure up emotions/responses, they know they aren't "real." It was created by the scene and you aren't really in love with that actor - you know it's just the characters.

There are times that you also like the actor as well, and it can get muddled and lead to romances between actors, but those are generally pretty short-lived...but not always. Some people have met their spouses from working together.

But generally reality does stay present, and most love scenes are highly choreographed and not at all romantic to perform.

Think about it this way:

They don't just have a sex scene. There are about 50 crew members standing around... lighting, make-up, film, sound. There are microphones and cameras ten feet away. Not only that, but they have to choreograph their moves so the cameras can block them. Most kissing is without tongue, except for shots that require it. They have to do multiple takes and remember what they did for when the camera positions change, so it matches in editing.

It is work. That is why they can do it.

One can't help but be affected somewhat by doing those scenes; however, imagine if you will being on a set surrounded by up to 50 technicians, lights, cameras, someone constantly retouching your makeup, someone telling you exactly how to hold your head for the kiss for optimal shot--then do the shot 5 or 10 or 15 times.

Kinda takes the excitement/romance out of it.

actors got to make an emotional cut between their own feelings and the feelings and situations that their character are having...

Actors dont feel things on their own, they put on someone else's shoes and show the way they should react to some situation.... even if this situation is a kiss or a sex scene...

Is not the actor who is having sex.. is the character....

I wouldn't say "romantic" feelings but certainly lustful and sexual feelings would happen. I mean, the brain is a great and wonderous thing, but I doubt it can tell the difference between rolling around in bed for fun or for money. Actors... what a great life!

that's why it's called acting.
those that harbor intimate feelings after are confusing their characters emotions for their own and projecting their scene mates characters feelings onto the other actor. that's why the relationships built on that rarely work out. the 2 actors forget that they're dating actual people, not the roles they each played.

They are pretending to be a different person, the character. When they walk away, they are leaving the character behind. It's how you separate yourself. That is what separates good actors from the rest of us.

I remember one time I did a gushy scene with a guy that is quite handsome. But he only dates skinny-high maintenance girls and not average girls like me. That fact alone made me become UN-attracted to him. I still respect him as a person and we're actually still friends, but knowing that about him really took care of any possibility of me developing romantic feelings for him.

You have to remember that they are acting, both are. Actors usually wear body suit for bed scenes especially on soap operas. Good question my husband and I often wondered about this.

In my experience, if there's any attraction beforehand, the love scenes enhance the attraction but if there's no attraction there's no effect whatsoever. I've had really "great" on-stage kisses and ones where I didn't feel a thing.
