The Departed is not a "boy's film" necessarily. I'm a chick and I dig a good drama with some action. But The Devil Wears Prada is SOOO a chick flick. So I vote The Departed.

The departed doesn't look too bad. If your wife really doesn't want to see it though, then go and see The Devil Wears Prada, I actually thought it was a pretty good film. If you think it's too girly, then there are least a good few gratuitous underwear shots that might help numb your pain !

The Departed has an amazing cast. That being said I hope it's not your typical mafia and cop movie.
I do like Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. I guess it depends if you want action or comedy.
Some others to consider The Illusionist with Edward Norton looks really good. The Black Dahlia is also another eye catcher.
The Ant Bully, Man of The Year, and Invincible
I would have to go with your choice over hers. You can always watch hers when it comes on dvd. Whereas movies like The Departed are better on the big screen.
I also do have a couple of friends that are married and they will each go see the movie that they want at the same time. It's not like you talk anyhow during the movie. I myself wouldn't do that, but hey to each their own.

These arent still in the theater are they? Id pick The Devil Wears Prada since it was a good book and its probably the movie your wife wants to see.

even though Im a girl Id have to go an see the departed its supposed to be brilliant and Im sure she will like it just as much as you, where as if you go an see the devil wears prada you'll be asleep an snoring before the films started!

Why are people saying that you will get laid if you watch The Devil Wears Prada? Women are not so easily pleased, especially if they are married to you!!! I wouldn't give it up to my husband just cos I got to watch the film I wanted - Geesh!!! Credit us with a little more than that! Anyways the best thing to do is scissors, paper, stone to decide, it works every time with me and my husband and it's fair!! LOL Hehehehehe!

I found the Departed far toooo long!! It was ok but you may be asleep by the end of it , not sure what Devil wears is like , I'd suggest Little Miss Sunshine - a really nice uplifting funny refreshing film

I would say the departed, but if she has her heart set on the Prada one...then maybe it would be best to go along with that one!
