--I was told today that they found life in the Earth's crust recently (not the ocean crust mind you) where its deep enough that there was no chance of this material of being on the surface before. I hadn't heard anything of the sort, and can't find anything on Science website or the net in general. Is this kid lying or just doesnt know what he's talking about? He said in non-jargon terms its anarobic etc....

if the site had never been exposed to the surface in any way there is no way short of telaportation that I can see that microbial life could be found. A search on Goggle Scholar turns up nothing like that.
