It happened to me. I, the other day I had a test, when I was at home, I knew everything front and back, but when I went to take the test. Bonged big time. The professor was nice enough to let me make it up, and I made the same mistake again. Drank too much coffee while I was studying, and was up too late, got up too early. I only had about 2 1/2 hours of sleep.

Because you were burned out. Too tired, and had too many materials to cover, and did, most likely. When it was test time! you froze, because of all the pressure. That is why they always say do NOT cramp before the test, because it will get to you. Trust me, been there and done that.

Maybe you have test anxiety. It is a real issue for some people, they know the material, they just do not test well. If this is the only time it has ever happened to you then maybe you studied to hard. and over analyzed the questions. Next time try to relax a little, and get more sleep, the brain does not function well with all of those factors figured in ( stressed about the test, up all night, too much information). If it happens again, you may ask the professor/teacher for accommodations, such as extra time, or to be put in a quiet room by yourself (well, with an aide or someone) because teachers totally understand the pressure some people put themselves under when it comes to testing.

You were probably tired.

If you're going to cram before the test do it right before the test, don't stay up like that.

You were nervous and clammed up. Explain to your teacher and ask for a re-test.

Performance anxiety. You were worried too much so you couldn't think. And maybe not enough RESTFUL sleep
