Yes, the electric company. Your power meter is a calibrated device that the electric company uses to monitor your electricity usage (in KWh). They do not allow non-employees access to these devices as, a) they don't want their customers tampering with the results, b) they don't want them to be damaged and c) they could prove hazardous if damaged or misused.

Hello Jose, Sometimes it depends on where you are located. Town, City, or County; try calling the power company 1st because they are the ones that initially turn on your power from the source and check you meter on a monthly basis. If they are unable to assist you then call an Electrician and ask if he has one or if he can recommend you to someone that does. This is a start. Good luck.

get a job at the electric company.. hey they make 20 dollars an hour 2 start and you will have your own key : )

doncha think there's a good reason why it's locked in the first place? it's to keep fools from getting in there and buggering the thing up - the electric company doesn't want you in there, that's why they lock it!!
