It was a lot easier to hold the sandwich and all its ingredients together with the "U"-shaped cut than just cutting the bread in half the way they do it now.

There were complaints that it made the sandwich look fuller. With the U-gouge the filling rode up to the top and the bottom was mostly bread.

I'm sure it took alonger amount of time and they were trying to be lazy. I agree with you it was easy to hold inthe ingredients maybe you should let corporate know and they can make changes. They are also franchises so you could talk to the owner of the one you eat at and maybe they can do it for you!

I don't know, but now, hardly anyone speaks English in Subways near me. So, maybe they never learned how to do it right, because they didn't understand the language.
