It depends on what the question is. If your question starts off with, "Why do all black people...", that could be considered racist because it presupposes that all black people act the same (when you should know that they don't). If you were to ask, "Why do some black people..." you're less likely to get called a racist because you're acknowledging that there are differences in black people, just like all white people are not serial killers and child molesters or drive Camero Z-28s while wearing tank top t-shirts...

Also, don't assume that one black person is the spokesman for the entire race of black people. Some blacks hate it when someone asks them "so, are you a good dancer?". Now while that may seem innocent on the surface, to a black person it may seem as if they're being stereotyped, i.e. all black people know how to dance. YOu might as well ask him if he likes fried chicken and watermelon while you're at it.

I know you think you're innocently asking a question, but to assume that one individual black person is the representative of their entire race. It's like someone asking you, "so why do white kids always kill each other in school?" You're response would probably be, "how the hell do i know? I'm just one guy."
----

I just read some of your questions and I now see why. You make giant generalizations. Next time, try asking why SOME people do this or that. Not all black women give their kids "strange" names, but when you write "why do black women..." as if they all do, it's a racist assumption. You know they all don't do that, so why do you ask something so stupid, or phrase it in a stupid way? Now if someone, after reading your questions, asked "Why do white people write such stupid questions?", that would be wrong because not all white people do that. Get it?

I don't know why you're being called that. I've never actually got to see any of your comments. However, we as black people have a way of reading between the lines. So if someone from another race says something to us and although you meant it to be somewhat of a compliment or you somehow beated around the bush by making some type of statement, we pick it up automatically. A lot of us as blacks are very aggressive, therefore if we feel that another race is trying to say something somewhat flip, we're going to automatically ask you "so what are you trying to say?" We are a people where we don't mince words. If we have something to say, we just plain spit it out! There is no beating around the bush for most black people because we look at our history and say to ourselves that we've been hushed enough. We're in a new millienium sweetie and it's not just black people who are speaking up, now with the sh!t that's going on in the world today, every race is speaking up. Caucasians may still have the power and finances in some areas but basically you all are not ruling every thing anymore. And the sooner you as a people realize this, the more calmer things will be. Hell I've dated your race! I don't have a problem with any race. My parents raised me not to hate someone due to the color of their skin, and to treat people the way you would want to be treated. We as human beings really need to stop the madness because eventually if it doesn't stop, it's going to be an all out blood bath. And why? It's ridiculous! Tomorrow is not promised to no one. So while you're here on the planet healthy and breathing, you might as well try to be happy as much as you can considering what this entire globe is going through at this particular time. So just take care. Try to be kind to others. Who knows, you may experience something really nice and it may continue throughout your entire life.

Some people, and whites are as guilty of this, think any question pertaining to racial differences, no matter how innocuous is somehow racist. They feel we should be beyond questioning our differences no matter how obvious, and that to point them out is to somehow stir up trouble and reinforce what little divisiveness exists between ethnicities. I disagree with that. I think asking these questions fosters dialog which in turn helps us to understand one another better. That said, it is possible to ask a question that has some racist subtext without the asker being aware that it is racist. In most cases it's easy to ascertain whether the questioner is asking out of ignorance and truly trying to get an answer, or rather they are being intentionally racist.

I know what you mean and i agree with you. I am a white Australian and here mot of us dont even think about skin colour. There is heaps of immigration to this country and due to this there is high amounts of ethnicity in all communities. I love it! But it bothers me to think that America is not in the same situation. People here don't care if I call them black or whatever because I am not saying it to offend them. I also hae no problem when they tease me about being white.

I think perhaps it is a trait carried by many americans from their forefathers. Black americans were put through so much unfairness and they have a right to be upset by that. The white americans even today that think of black people as less deserve nothing but our absolute detest! And some of them carry their forefathers prejudice, which is plain wrong. Men are men and women are women! Since i believe this very strongly then it should never be taken as an insult when i call someone black or asian or whatever. The fact is these people being offended are of this skin colour! (although its only fair to say that those who are black etc. and know all this never think twice about this) I believe that we should not be ignorant of someones skin colour, we should feel free to make a distinction if there is one! But maybe not a stereotype which is what many americans white and black have fallen into the trap of consistently doing.... And never insult or demeen someone because of this either.

God sees men as equal, well thats good enough for me.

if you are asking questions directed JUST to the black people, then you will be seen as antagonistic. However, if you ask general questions to everybody you shouldn't catch hell for it.

And if people would use the term racist in the correct way, you wouldn't get called a racist until you really deserved it.

and while I'm on it...what the heck is "reverse racisim"? THERE IS NO SUCH ANIMAL! Racisim is racisim, period.

sometimes people just take your question the wrong way. if you ask another race question, just be sure to thoroughly explain that you are not racist, you just want to get the other person's point of view.

Carry on.
You live in a "free" society, you have the right to say what you want, how you want.
If you were a minority no-one would be able to shout you down.
You are not a racist, you are a person.

It's two faced, true, but it's politically correct.

Personally, I think intent is the most important thing, but people love to be able to point the finger and say... "you're a bad guy"

Maybe it is because a lot of your questions have to do with asking about them.
