Party time, I believe.
And there will be more than enough biscuits to go around...

Well now, that's a good question. Of course it first appears that the right thing to do would be to take the money directly to the police. Most likely it was some deposit that a company had and was going to take it to their bank. In that case I would go right and take it to the authorities. Also if it was a business' deposit, it would in all likelyhood be in a bank bag with a zipper or key or a deposit ticket.
But their is a chance that the money came from something else
Maybe the money wasn't obtained from some honest business. Maybe some strung-out drug dealer lost it. Maybe it was going to go line the pockets of some mafia type thug. You wouldn't want them to get their money back would you?
Where do you live? Is it a small town? If you live in a small town (or a big one for that matter) then you will hear about a business losing the money. If its a bigger city then, wait a while. Have you heard of any robberies involving a lot of cash? Is there any news that could conceivably involve this amount of cash in large bills?
In this day and age of credit cards and checks and electronic payments, most transactions do not involve cash. The money probably came from a drug deal. Wait a while and make a reasonable attempt to find the owner without actually turning over the moeny to the authorities. Call the police, but don't call from your house. They can trace your call. Just ask if anyone has reported any money lost or stollen. Ask them for a description of what the money was in. If the moeny was involved in a legitamate transaction and it was reported stollen then turn it in. Otherwise enjoy the cash!

I can answer this from experience. I was with my mom and we found about $2000 in cash in a parking lot.
We actually turned it in to authorities. You don't want to risk keeping something like that and then finding out later that's it's "dirty money". You could get into big trouble for something like that.
So we did the right thing and turned it in to the officers nearby.

If you mean pennies, I would take that $hit to Vegas and have them use that fast change counting machine. Then I would hit the casinos.
If you mean bennies, I would not even touch it- I don't need to be associated with drugs or catch a case.

I'd take it to the cops. I know, alot of people are going to say they would keep it, but deep down our morel code would prevent anyone with any kind of conscious from stealing that money. Besides, if no one comes to claim the money, you most likely will be called to come get it after so long...

I apologize for being selfish, but I'd take it and buy my own little island somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, call it my Grey Havens, and retire there.
And of course I'd invite all my friends and throw a big kegger or whatever, whenever.

I hate to say it but I believe I would keep it. I would stash it away and only spend small amounts at a time.
