My home network has a connection that I also use on my wireless computer. A bubble pops up at the bottom of the screen saying "Connected to: 2WIRE389 Signal Strength: Excellent".
All is well for a few minutes until the bubble pops up again and says " Connected to: wireless Signal Strength: Good" or some other connection/signal strength. I get the error message on my screen saying that my computer can't find a connection. I then have to rt click on the connection icon, goto "View Available Wireless Connections and click on 2WIRE389. After a few seconds, it allows me to reconnect with my home network and then 2 minutes later the same thing happens. How can I get my 2Wire389 connection to stay locked on at home?

You are probably right at the distance limit of the signal.

I have the same problem as Andrew. I have a ZyXEL 336M MIMO router. 2 computers (1 desktop with G MIMO PCI adapter and 1 notebook) are connected to it by wireless. They sometimes also lose connection though it happens more often with the notebook even when I use it just next to the router. I also have a third computer connected to the router by cable. As suggested by some I have separated the ADSL modem and the router by placing them in different parts of the room. When I use the notebook I notice that the Tx speed often drops from 56Mbs -> 42 -> 24 -> 1 or something like that. When I get to 1 it means there is no connection. Then it slowly goes back up again. I don't think it is the router's fault. I don't have any other wireless equipment in my room besides my cell phone. I'm also looking for an answer.

I think that there is some problem with the Yahoo network. Try this go to start, go to run, type cmd, in the black screen where the cursor is type ipconfig/all. Get the default gateway address. Once you get that then in the next line type ping -t "default gateway address" and then wait to see . it will ping your router and you will find out if its the connection or your laptop the keeps running out.
