I agree with William T.

Googling the word pliking turns up results dealing with shooting metal object with guns.

I'm guessing the word gets its origin from the sound it makes when you shoot a can with a gun.

In my experience, 'pliking' was shooting at tin cans, etc. Just plinking; usually with a .22, for fun.

There is no word PLIKING.Did you perhaps mean Pilking, or Plinking?Pilking is a shaved weapon having a pointed head formerly used by infantry. Plinking is to shoot at casually or to make a soft metallic sound.
