Absolutely!
There are times in the day when I listen to classical, rock, blues, etc.

And to tell the truth, a lot of rock musicians dip into the classical music well to draw up inspiration for tunes.

My all-time favorite piece is Dvoraks' Symphony no. 9 in E minor, "From the New World" (1893).

But I'm still a rock-n-roller at heart.

I do but out of moderation. I like Mozart, Beethoven and Bach. I listen to it usually around the holidays. The music seems appropriate when the weather gets cooler for some reason. I can only listen to classical music in spurts.

Yes, I'm a classical music buff... We're easily labeled as snobs but classical music has proven itself worthy withstanding the test of time, and some pop artistes have already faded into oblivion. I prefer it because it engages the mind more, and evokes a wider range of emotions.

(Btw Bolero is by Maurice Ravel and I don't like it.)

Many people still love classical music. It may be old, or most of it's old anyway, but it's still more popular than most people would think. It can be very relaxing to listen to it and it can be really pleasant if it's played at slow tempo whilst people are eating dinner etc.

I remember what I used to feel when my father would play all his classical music collection. I used to think it was a bit boring and only for the "oldies". However, as time flies, I've come to appreciate those masterpieces for what's really worth. In fact, if someone would utter Tchaikovsky to me, I am not going to be totally illiterate and in return just give that person a blank stare...hehehehe...

Beethoven, Handel, Phillip glass, Michael Nyman...many more...

One shouldnt forget that our music today was spawned from the classical fount. If someone can bring to pop what Mozart bought to classical, I'll eat my blacksatanicmetal hat.
