I have gotten limo service for my birthday for several years and have been invited to ride in a limo for other peoples events and always the driver says his name is Ron. I wonder if anyone knows why this is?

If I were to hazard a guess it would be to alleviate issues with clients finding it uncomfortable not knowing a strange drivers name, thus if everyone in the profession used the moniker 'Ron' such awkward moments could be reduced. The same thing applies to butlers being referred to as 'Jeeves', though I believe that is much less common these days.
