i went to the employment department and they helped me out and get my am apointment with a rep from job core down at the portland OR emplyment department.

does you sone really need to go there? if he has a chance to go to college amd wamts to go then dont send him to JC. JC is pretty much like going to a low security prison (take note i went to the 3rd best in the nation) you have normal people who had no money for college thet went there, but you also have a vast majoraty of people who were ether there to get out og the gang enviroment or were there because it was ether that ot jail.

your son will be thrown around for about 1 month (not physicaly) and he will be under some stress for his whole stay. the lvl of stress he gets depends on him and how he treats other people, most people are civilized there and if your nice to them they will be nice to you.

ok i said enough negative stuff about it now for the posative stuff.

if your in a good JC they will dicaplin you to an extent, its kind of half *** freedom and hald *** being in the army, you free to do as you wish, but you not. lol. being as antisocial as i am i made more friends there then i did at home. they should give you 3 days to pick a trade to try and trust me many people never do what they thought they were going to do, i was going to fo construction or carpentry but ended up taking bricklaying! they will help people get their diploma or GED and when you leave JC they will try to find you a job just about any where you want, actualy they were going to gelp me get a job in canada! (my ***** girl friend cheated on my 2 days befor i left JC)

all in all if your sure you want it job core is a great life expirence and can help pelp people decided what they want to do. hell i got out in january and am not going to school to get in to the FBI on 6 years. they have mand many former druggies, gang members, poor, abused and just plane Human kids lives much better and hopefully congress will some day realize they need more money.
