This really depends on the individual. For me, the most romantic spot on earth is anywhere my girlfriend is.

Paris in the spring, is simply the very most romantic city in the world in my opinion.
The wine, the food the tourest attractions and the views are absolutely breath taking. You can go out every night dress sexy if you want and have a great time, there is something about a french waiter that will charm the pants off of you.
and for a woman the shopping is the best

My vote is to go to the Island of St. Martin in the French West Indies and stay on Orient Beach. One popular smaller resort on that beach is shown here: http://www.alamanda-resort.com/msie4.html
It is a relatively casual resort within a few footsteps of a wonderful beach. The beach is topless but only a half mile walk to a totally nude portion of the beach. Very quiet compared to a lot of beaches, hardly any noise pollution like radios. Lots of couples on honeymoons etc. I went for 10 consecutive nights in late April and Early May and it was FANtasTIC. One of the best times to go they say is November to January or April and May. Avoid July-October cuz of Hurricane season. Another great thing is that St. Martin is only a 2 hour boat trip to St. Barth which is a good side trip. St. martin is half Dutch heritage and half French. The Dutch side is noisy with casinos and the French side is quieter with fine cousine and pristine beaches. A number of airlines fly there including US Air which goes direct from Charlotte. Take passports for sure you will need them. People are very friendly. Rental cars are inexpensive and you can get all inclusive insurance for a small amount.

My bf and I took a super romantic trip to Florida in August. We stayed in Boca Raton and traveled from Deerfield Beach all the way to Miami. Deerfield was amazing. the city pier was full of interesting people (and fish) and the beach in the moonlight was terribly romantic. A midnight picnic on the beach turned out to be quite playful. Miami was full of shopping and you can walk hand in hand down the strand with interesting shops and people every step of the way. We didn't book lots of tours or have a hectic schedule of activities...we just took it easy and went with the flow for a change. It was awesome. We are already planning another trip for the spring to Aruba. BTW, congratulations on the decade.

I would choose a cruise...they are reasonably priced for what you get....a lovely room, incredible food, and as much or as little entertainment as you want. My husband and I go on two cruises a year...we fit in water sports, sightseeing at the ports of call, and some scuba diving. It is effortless, nearly!
