If the Series goes 7 games, then the last one will be October 29. Detroiters generally riot and set fires around Halloween anyhow - winning or losing the Series will just give them another reason.

No no no no no.......... things are different than 1984.
Nothing happened when the Wings won the Cup in 97, 98, and 02; and nothing happened when the Pistons won the NBA in 2004.
Yes, Detroit is a sh*tty town as far as demographics; but the sports fans are awesome. We have the most supportive fans in the country-- even Lions games still sell out. You can expect a lot of partying and maybe a few idiots will get arrested... but overall there will be no rioting.

Look at what happened when the Bulls won the NBA title
in 1991, and when the Lakers won in 2000, the fans in
Chicago and Los Angeles rioted and were out of control,
but when the Pistons won their first NBA title since 2004, it
was pretty much under control, so the answer is probably not.
However, if you go further back to 1984, when the Tigers last won
a World Series, the answer is yes. Based on recent history,
the answer is no, but based on past history, the answer is
yes. The reality is it is a possibility based on what happened
in 1984, when the Tigers won the World Series.

Not likely.. most of those who would have rioted, or looted in the 80s went to Spring Hill, Tennessee, or other markets that now make cars or car parts.. in 1984, Detoit's population was 1.3 million, for this world Series, its a shade over 800-thousand..
In the 1990s, when the Red Wings won the Stanley Cup.. each championship was well behaved with arrests in downtown Detroit actually lower than the average per day.. more than 1-million fans converged to downtown for the celebrations and during the celebrations.. less than five arrests for 'misbehaving' NY probably averages that per hour..
The problem is the perception of Detoit from 1967 to 1984 seems stuck in people's minds.. and I understand that..
2004 crime rate comparison, done per capita the rate per 100,000 population..
Detroit was slighlty higher in murder rates than St. Louis.. but every other violent crime, from robbery to aggravated assault, St. Louis blew away Detroit.. only exception was forcible rape.. and larceny, St. Louis was three times greater than Detroit's rate, with just over 7000 cases per 100,000.. Detroits was just over 2000 cases per 100,000 population..
I'd worry more about violence in St. Louis than Detroit if the Cards pull out the upset..

I am so happy Detroit is in the World Series, personally. I watched the Tigers win way way way way back when I was in forth grade in the 80s win the World Series, it was my first taste of sports other than the Olympics. You can expect people to drink a lot and maybe let their actions get out of control, just as any good sports fanatic does all over the world.

i think of the Tigers take interest a million. First reason is Justin Verlander, he's controversial the excellent pitcher interior the MLB this season, and it would be complicated for the Giants to submit runs on him. I additionally think of that the Giants may be emotionally spent with the great comeback from being down 3-a million interior the NLCS that they are due for a letdown interest.

I think this is a pretty absurd question....
Detroit has won many championships within the past years in many different sports and there have been no problems.
It will be a big party WHEN the TIGERS DO win!!!

When you have nothing else left, make fun of the other team's city/fans. Basically, that's nothing more than a pathetic whine from a supporter of an inferior team.
