I was having some bleeding with intercourse. (all the comon reasons for this were already ruled out) I went to the doctor and the said that my cervix was slightly erroded and the blood vessels were closer to the surface and thats why sometimes i'm bleeding. Have anyone else encountered this? He says that for the most part it will not effect anything, but i have never heard of this

The narrow passage through the cervix is lined with glandular cells that secrete mucus, while the outer part of the cervix is usually lined with a different, flat type of lining cell. Sometimes the glandular cells grow down and appear on the outer surface of the cervix to form a red, velvet-like area called a cervical erosion. This term is misleading however, nothing is really being eroded and the condition is entirely normal

I had this happen to me a few years after I had my daughter. I think you need to listen to what your body is saying to you. Are you experiencing pain during intercourse? If you have had children before, were there difficulties? Do you bleed for extended amount of time or have longer menstrual cycles than you previously have? How well do you know your doctor and is it an OBGYN you went to? I had problems stem from misdiagnosis and so I urge to see another doctor (preferably an OBGYN) if you are not satisfied with what your doctor's diagnosis. It took me years to find out what was wrong and many many doctors. Only you know what you feel, so make notes of anything going on that doesn't feel right. Take it with you to your appointment and give the paper to the doctor. I have found this helps if you embarrass easily.
