WE went away and accidently turned off the chest freezer, and defrosted all the food in it. It stunk! I've tried bleach+hot water, floral disinfectant. Nothing seems to work!I dont want to throw it as its perfectly good, apart from the stink! I hope someone has some good ideas.

If the food smell as permeated the appliance walls and piping, disposal is the only option.

One last chance though, is an ozone maker called Refresh. Normally used for everyday odor control, the battery driven device sits in the frig pumping out ozone which controls microbes making the odors. There is a way to make the device kick out more ozone, maybe that will work.

The unit sells for around $55 but is tricky to find. Try Pure Air Plus, (800) 455-5247. They will ship within 24 hours.

Wipe it down with either lemon juice or vanilla essence to remove the smell. Maybe take the door off & allow to sit outside in a sunny spot till the smell goes.
