It really depends on the lock. See if you have a small pinhole somewhere on the outside handle. If yes, stick a small pin, tiny screwdriver, or anything else that can fit to push the cylinder and open the door. If it doesnt work, then you have to unscrew the handle and try to manipulate the locking cylinder to open the door.

Well here something funny, before I answer your question.
As I was looking at all questions I noticed yours, so I click
on yours answered your question. Then when I finished
I submitted to you, to find out I clicked to some else question.
But here I go again Find something small and stick into the small
hole turn it right as your turning the door knob. That should work.
It might take a few tries, but you'll succeed. Then when once you
got the door opened save the object that you used to opened the door for future use. It's happened to us before.

use a paper clip or bobby pin to pick the lock, or use a butter knife to pry it open. If neither of these work and the hinges are on that side of the door pop them up and slip the door off the hinges..
Be careful not to let the door fall. Most importantly don't panic or you will scare your little brother...hope it works out okay.

There is a mechanism inside the hole that will unlock the door. Usually an icepick is the cirrect size to insert. Just press it against the spring, and it will open.

Find a metal paperclip and unfold one end of it. You should be able to use that to open the door. I wouldn't worry too much because those types of doors are easy to open.

Get a nail and poke it in the hole -- it has to be long enough to reach the latch that releases the lock. Hold it in and turn the knob.
Or any thing that is about 3 to 4" long that you can push straight in thru the hole untl it reaches resistance, push against the resistance and turn the knob at the same time.

Try a saftey pin or a butterknife if that doesnt work try talking your brother into going out the window or you try going in through the window to unlock the door.
