The Grudge now that is a creepy Holloween movie for ya.
But I guess if you want to go festive, then The Legend of Sleepy Hollow would be cool.

Now, are slasher movies an option? Because somehow I don't really think Slasher = Scary. Know what I mean?

Poltergeist
I also strongly support Candyman and What Lies Beneath

I'd say those are the top 3 scariest movies.

The People Under the Stairs is kinda scary the first time and freakin' hilarious the second time you see it.

Our family has the tradition of watching Jurassic Park with the lights off. That's our scary movie.

honestly... the one that always messes with me is the original Candyman. To this day that movie scares the stuff out of me. I think it's the whole look in the mirror and say Candyman thing-- too many games of "Bloody Mary" at childhood slumber parties I guess....

I'm a bit of a horror junkie and may be able to help.
My gf is terrified of the original candyman also, that's a good one.
One of my all time favorite horrors though
is H.P.Lovecrafts 'Dagon'.
Guaranteed to scare the stuffing outta most people.

Evil Dead. I remember seeing this in a movie hall alone and I had to cycle back in the night. My nerves were a mess!
