well not every pregnancy is the same. just because you weren't tired with your first two doesn't mean you won't be with this one. every baby is different. it probably doesn't help that you are already a mother of 2. the only thing you can really do is get as much rest as you possibly can and be sure and take your prenatal vitamins faithfully because your baby is using up all your nutrients so you have to replace that with something. eat healthy foods with plenty of vitamins. fruits and vegetables are probably where you will find most of the vitamins you need. you may even have low iron. i did with my pregnancy. they will eventually do a test to see if you're anemic but you may want to tell your doctor earlier so he can give you some medicine for it. other than all that, there's really nothing else you can do to stay awake. it's all part of being pregnant. it will get better in the second trimester. however you will start going back down hill in the last trimester. i am a little over 35 weeks and i'm very tired all the time! it doesn't matter how much sleep i get, it's just never enough! fortunately , for me, i'm almost done. this has been quite a different and challenging experience for me since this is my first child and i'm only 18. good luck with yours!

I have 4 children but with my 4th I had no morning sickness at all but oh my gosh I was so tired!! I felt like I could sleep 24 hrs a day!! I would drink really cold ice water and put cold water on my face a few times a day. Work on maybe 2 short naps with the little ones, or baby proof the bedroom and put in a little einstein video and try to just rest while the younger one naps and the older one watches a show. Even 30 minutes is a little better. It should get better about the same time moning sickness ends, after the first trimester. Don't forget to mention it to your doctor, just to be sure. Good Luck

Are you anemic from your pregnancy? Its normal to be exhausted, but if its extreme and you're sleeping well at night, then it might be an iron problem.

I'd ask your doctor. You can also take b vitamins, just ask your OB about dosage. It takes a week or so to kick in, but it can really help.

Another thing, if you can find matte tea (i think i spelled that right) it has stimulents in it that do not effect the heart or other systems, only the brain, so its safe for pregnant women. It tastes great too. Try hippy stores, ask about teas with non caffiene stimulents.

The worst should pass after your first trimester. Maybe gramma and grampa can help some days so you can get a nap in.

I had the same problem, but no kids to watch. I work full- time and I was falling asleep at work! Try to take naps even 15 - 20 minutes when you can. Get someone to help you watch the kids ever once in a while or for just a half hr so you can nap. My fatigue didn't wear off until about 15 wks and I'm 18 wks and still more tired then before I got pregnant. You should start feeling better in about 7 or 8 wks. Good luck, I know how aweful this feels!

Ask your doctor about taking extra b12 vitiman. Also pay a baysitter or solicited a friend or family member to come sit with the kids of a couple of hours once or twice a week so you can rest. Try to put the 22mo and 3yr old on the same nap schedule so you all can nap at the same time. Good luck!

Yes! Poor you, I have only one child and feel cranky. Definitely try to coordinate the naps so you can catch a little shuteye. How bout some hot chocolate when you feel drowsy? Sometimes a hot beverage is all you need. Good luck with the babies and the baby on the way!

I am 9 weeks and have been super sleepy from day one. As far as caffeine goes every OB/GYN in my practice says that a little coffee is fine, they all drank it when they were pregnant. they say no more than 4 cups a day. I usually have one cup that is half decaf half real coffee.

You can't stop yourself from being tired - its a fact of early pregnancy, running around after 2 kids, and keeping a household. don't fight it, try to sleep whenever you can. This should get better by your second trimester but...everyone is different.

Maybe you and your husband should take different shifts with the kids so you can get some sleep,Or maybe hire a nanny if you can that will help alot.
