So I need to buy a new laptop for school and playing world of warcraft. I have a decent amount of computer knowledge so if you are just going to guess then please dont because I will know. Anyways I cant decide between an hp laptop with these specs:
NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 With AMD x2 OR 128MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 7200 with Core Duo

I know the 128MB card is better, but how much? I can either get the AMD with the 6150 now...or I would wait about 2 weeks to get the core duo for about $100 more. The processor is not a big deal since I know they are close to the same thing. Also the computer will have a gig of DDR2(yuk) ram and both processors will run close to 1.73.

My questions are: Is the 128MB card much more powerful or hardly noticeable for playing WoW?
Worth the price over the AMD's card?

Thanks

My question was not can the 128MB card handle Wow...I know for a fact it can. It is can the 6150 card handle it and how much less performance would I get from the 6150 when compared to the 128MB 7200

You're looking at a difference of about 20 frames per second with high quality settings enabled. The 6150 should be able to attain high enough frame rates for smooth play if you don't turn all the setting up. I personally use a Radeon x1800 mobile and achieve frame rates from 60 to 100 fps.

128MB really isn't that good for a video card. 64 is pretty much obsolete. Definately go with at least 256 or 512. Especially for playing WoW.

As far as a processor, go AMD for gaming no matter what.

I still think you should buy a desktop for gaming though. Laptops are too restricting as far as good graphics and they're also way more expensive. You could build a desktop with the same specs for half the price of the laptop you're considering.

firstly, select a good processor
the core 2 duo t7200
2.0 ghz, 667 mhz fsb, 4 mb l2 cache
>> it is this awesome 4 mb l2 cache that does the magic

t7400 & t7600 even better, but too much price difference to pay !

half the battle is won, next get a 256 mb dual graphics card
1 gb ddr2 ram @ 667 mhz

no worry for a few years !!

From my experience any graphics card is far superior to integrated graphics. As for the people talking about amount of memory, that is not the most important factor, it is about the speed of the card, and the card is better.

Just out of curiousity, why the yuk after your said DDR2. Just curious.

128mb seems to be a decnt amout to play WoW, the old ones atleast. Newest versiosn requires some of the best settings and video cards. Don't forget you need ram, and a whole lot of it

It depends. AMD atholon give you better graphic and you will feel great when you played game on the computer. If you want ur computer to load fast, buy Core Duo, when you are sneak playing, it helps alot cuz it loads fast and brings you back to ur working screen. To me, i will just choose which ever one is the cheapest.
