My boyfriend has a regular Xbox that he loves to play, his birthday is comming up and I was thinking about a xbox 360. i remember hearing things about them over heating and malfunctioning. I am clueless and have never even played an Xbox, should I get the 360?

HE would love you forever if you got him a xbox 360m
not sayiing he does not already love you but.....It will make him v ery happy.

My suggestion is to buy it new, dont get a used one....also make sure you get the warrenty on the system....if you get it from best buy all you have to do is bring it back to them and they will replace it on the spot for you if it breaks.....

make sure you replace it regardless if it works or not when your 2 year warrenty is about to expir...so you will have a brand new one again,

i would not get the core system, make sure you get the system that comes with the 20 gig hard drive. its a much better deal.

the over-heating and malfunctioning is true; however, that was only true for the 1st generation of them. All new technologies will have bugs and problems for a while. Microsoft however, has fixed them for the most part. If the console is in a well ventilated area there shouldn't be an over-heating problem. To stay on the safe-side you can get one of the cooling fans that can be bought about anywhere. As for functionality the wireless controller for the 360 is remarkable. The ad campaign for it is true it is like it has an invisible wire attached to it. Overall the 360 is an excellent console sure to keep your boyfriend out of your hair for hours/days/weeks/months and probably the rest of your life. just kidding but at least a couple weeks.

I wouldn't get it.... I bought my husband one for his birthday and he hardly plays it.... There are not many games for the system yet and it costs too much money to play on line... Not to mention that the games are $60 each... everything for the 360 is over priced... And the only way you can really tell any difference in graphics is if you have a high definition t.v. to play on... Microsoft did fix the problems with overheating... I bought the one for my husband in July on this year and it does freeze up more than his old xbox... He wishes I would have saved the money and bought the New Nintendo Wii.... Maybe you should save the money and wait for a better system to come out.... Good Luck with what ever you do...

I bought an xbox360 on launch day, and have had ZERO problems with it. Make sure the fan in the back of it has plenty of room to blow, and you will be just fine!

There are plenty of games out and if your bf enjoys the old xbox, he will LOVE the Xbox360. Just by the warranty, and you will win the award for greatest girlfriend ever! (My wife wins the greatest-wife-ever award for buying me mine!)
