how did it differ? i am referring to the male perspective that is.

I think women have improved the workforce. Personally, I've usually been happier with my female supervisors than the male ones. It depends on the personalities, but, women tend to be a little more friendly and compassionate. I would say the more negative impact is at home. Now, there are several families with two jobs and several families with no jobs. If things went back to one main bread winner, more families might have employment. There's good and bad both ways. You just have to compare the two and figure out which one is really best.
