It's either gas or spark. You could also have an electrical problem with the coil or igniter, in addition to what you suspect as a possible fuel problem.

You'll need to diagnose the problem or have someone diagnose it for you.

If you are willing to spend some money on tools, I'd be willing to discuss some of the ways a shade tree mechanic can diagnose the problem, but it's not cheap and if you're not mechanically inclined, you're better off taking it to a mechanic.

However if you are interested, click on my name on the left and e-mail me and I'll get you started in diagnosing the problem.

It could be a fuel problem but sounds to me the ICM burnt out. Very common problem among GM products. It's inside the distributor and held down with a couple of small screws with a wire harness attached. ICM stands for Ignition Control Module and they cost generally around $12-15! Pretty simple to replace if you have some basic mechanical ability. Just pop the distributor cap and pull out the rotor. You will see it in the bottom of the distributor. IF YOU REMOVE PLUG WIRES MAKE SURE YOU NOTATE THEM SO AS TO PUT THEM BACK CORRECTLY!!!!
I am assuming you are a novice so use precaution with the plug wires. Cap and rotor only go on one way so you can't mess that up. DO NOT REMOVE THE DISTRIBUTOR OR LOOSEN IT"S HOLDING CLAMP EITHER!!!! It will be a disaster if you do!

2 Word Fuel Pump,my friends did the same thing,it doesn't make sence but it did.His was electric as yours is to also more than likely located on top of the fuel tank or by the filter ajasent to the tank in back. But i could be wrong,it ceartainly didn't jump time sitting. If its fuel injected throtle body then make sure it's getting gas,to find out for sure weather it's the pump have a freind put there ear to it and you turn the ingnition on all the way but NOT FAR ENOUGH TO TURN IT,you should hear the electric fuel pump spin for about 4 seconds then it'll stop.If you hear it do that, then it's not the fuel pump, good luck

i own a repair shop, and usually when one does this the ignition module has went dead on it this is how they go out when they are parked after being run they just don't start again, i do this for a living and i have replaced a lot of them, this is the most common cause of one not starting, especially a GM product there well known for ignition modules going dead on them, but they wont go dead while your driving them, all the ones i have seen always go out after they have been parked, its strange behavior for a part to d this, but with all the computer stuff on cars today, there almost as smart as we are,but try and se if its getting fire ,and if it isn't the module has went dead and it wont start until its replaced on it,good luck hope this help,s.

If it turns over, I'm guessing it's getting spark. Something could've clogged the fuel filter, or the air filter could be making it harder. Also, you could check spark--could need new wires or spark plugs.
