My clarinet is a 2 to 3 year old Yamaha, and every time I play a low C, the clarinet makes a strange buzzing/rattling noise. It doesn't happen on any other notes, not even on C's in different octaves. It sounds like a spit bubble in the mouthpiece, but that couldn't happen coincidently on every low C I play, and not on any other note. It's not severe enough to interfere with my playing, but It's somewhat annoying. Could anyone tell me what's going on and if there's a fix?

I've greased the mouthpiece recently, and it still does it. (Who wants to carry a low-brass case around? Lol!)

It sounds like you need to have it professionally tuned. Find a music store in your area. Chances are they can either help you or point you in the right direction.

Outside of recomending that you burn it and start playing a low brass horn, I would check the cork around the mothpiece, it might need grease.
Just kidding on the burning thing :)

The reed could be broken and might need replacing, and if eberyting else fails you could try taking it to a music shop to get it looked at. Mine did that and i fiddled around with it and it was fine!
