I can't believe all these people explained what it meant, but didn't correct you with the phrase. It's "Always SHOOT for the moon, whether you hit the mark or not."

I am guessing that you know what it means now.

I've heard shoot for the moon. I think it just means to set your goals high. Even if you don't reach them you'll get further than you would if you set them low.

Try for the best, even if you are uncapable of reaching it. Mind over matter can pull you through anything
