I like to watch the "30 something Democrats" on CSPAN. They are a little over the edge, but they are telling the truth. Democrats have not even been allowed to present a bill without approval of the Republican majority. They can add amendments only if sanctioned by the Republican controlled committees...all committees are led by a Republican chairperson. The only thing Democrats can do is submit amendments...if they are approved, they will be voted on, but the Republicans have the majority and will simply vote it down...and vote, and again, Republicans are in the majority. The same goes for the Senate, but the system is a little different. The Administration controls the justice department and chooses how laws will be acted upon.
the Republicans own the whole thing...they even control the Ethics Committee in the house. If someone says the Democrats are to blame for anything in the last 6 years, they are simply being partisan and you can just ignore them, trying to convince them otherwise is a waste of time, they are chiseled out of stone.
I guess Democrats could filibuster, but if they did that every time, they would be blamed for being obstructionist...

My answer is comparable to it grew to become into once you asked a similar question quarter-hour in the past: to assert that the democrats "took power" shows an common fake impact of ways our government works. Bush continues to be President. He can veto any invoice that's handed. the domicile of Reps. is 233 Democrat 2 hundred Republican 2 different. The dems don't have the votes to override a veto. The Senate is fifty one democrats and that includes Lieberman, 40 9 Republicans. The Republicans components up any invoice variety coming to the floor, the democrats prefer 60 votes to beat this, which they don't have. additionally, blaming the Congress for the economic subject tells me you do no longer know how the economic gadget works the two. they have little administration over costs -- and we are feeling the outcomes of six years of a Republican President and Congress. you're merely repeating your self and your loss of understanding interior the Political technology section.

Do not forget that they have enough votes to filibuster any bill.
This leads to compromises.
Don't you even understand how Congress works?
