Favorite band of all time are the Beatles.
From the instrumentation, to the vocal style to the songwriting ability and over-all originality, they are still the benchmark that all other bands must be measured by (even Oasis - despite their droll comments about the Beatles - are influenced by the Fab Four sound).

Favorite Band = Glenn Miller, Jimmy or Tommy Dorsey, Kaye Kiaser, Lawrence Welk, Whoopie John, etc.. etc..
Favorite Singer = Bing Crosby, Gene Kelly, Hank Williams (Sr), Glen Campbell, Diana Shore, Kate Smith, Tammy Wynette, Patsey Cline, Ernest Tubbs, Loretta Lynn, Barbara Mandrell and her sisters, etc... etc...
Because they sang songs with music that you could feel and understand. Was REAL music back then.

Singer- Alison Krauss- I can't get over how beautiful her voice is.
