You could play the yellow car game. Incase you didn't know what that is, (very unlikely but you never know) it involves punching someone very hard in the arm every time you see a yellow car. have fun!!

Treat it like a 12 hour plane ride. If you have any hand held consoles it would be to your best interest to use them. If you had asked this question last night I would suggest to just stay up all night or get very little sleep so you can sleep on the bus. A book will get boring fast, so sleep is your best bet. Maybe you should go out and pick up one of those books that contain challenging puzzles or "brain busters" to occupy your time. If you have a laptop maybe you could pick up a DVD or two to watch on it or some games to play on it. Honestly, your best bet would be to try to get as much sleep as you can, that passes the time better than anything else.
You have 3 1/2 hours to spare. In my opinion you should get off the computer and go searching around your town to find things that you can use to occupy your time.
Good luck..

Get a neck cushion - one of those ones you inflate that wraps round your neck - you can probably find it at the bus station.
Take a large scarf or shawl. This helps to cope with fluctuations in temperature, or can be worn over your face if the lights are on in the bus and disturb you, or shield you from other passengers, or can be used to cushion your face against the window if you have a window seat.
Write a story in your head.
The longest bus journey I've been on was 16 hours each way for a weekend in Iskenderun! I survived and would do it again. It's probably not going to be as bad as you think. Good luck.

portable DVD player ? some of the coaches have in house entertainment like show a movies etc . but some i have been on have nowt so take a sleeping pill ! some coaches have the thinnest of thin seat`s ,so take an extra cushion with you , you will need it ! it`s gonna be dark soon so they won`t be much scenery to look at , do you have a lap top you can take / play games on /watch a DVD ? it`s so boring being a passenger ! the rear seats generally have more space / leg room but the isle seats a bit more comfy they`re OK if your going with a friend but if on your Tod i would go for the rear seat !

Get some light sleeping pills from the chemists.
I did this on a flight to Brasil in the summer. You get 6 hours shut eye from half a tablet, and feel great when you wake up.

Go to the chemist and buy some Piriton Allergy Relief tablets, one or 2 of them and you'll sleep like a baby. I do it for long haul flights. Plus you'll be nice and fresh for your arrival in Amsterdam

Eejut. Nowadays you can fly with SleazyJet or Ryanair for less than the cost of the bus fare. If you think I'm having a laugh, check out the websites.
