i have a gigabyte GA-K8n51GMF-9 motherboard that supports dual channel. one of my dimm[512 ddr] is 512 ddr sdram pc3200 [200 MHz] unbuffered[2 ranks, 4 banks] [module width at 64] and mem timings as
1]@ 200MHz 3.0-3-3-8 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS)
2]@ 166 MHz2.5-3-3-7 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS)
3]@ 133 MHz2.0-2-2-6 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS).

the other dimm[2] as 512 ddr sdram pc3200 [200 MHz] unbuffered[1 rank, 4 banks] [module width at 64] and mem timings as
1]@ 200 MHz3.0-4-4-8 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS).

i see that both are different in things such as the above ones[i dont know what they mean]. i got these from a program called everest. now how do i solve this problem? how can i enable dualchannel conf? my pc boots showing single channel memory. i heard that dual channel is better. i would be greatful if u could say what conditons are for dual channel.both dimms are simtronics made.

The ram has to be in the correct slots and has to be dual channel compatible

They are not the exact same, which they have to be to run in dual channel. You can see a couple of differences, the first says 2 ranks the second says 1. Also you can see that at 200Mhz they have different timings. Basically the safest way to go about dual channel is to buy two of the exact same sticks at the same time. Also, don't know why the last guy said he would not recommend running them over 166MHz, they are meant to run at 200.

To achieve Dual Channel mode, the following conditions must be met:

* Matched DIMM configuration in each channel
* Same Density (128MB, 256MB, 512MB, etc.)
* Same DRAM technology (128Mb, 256Mb, or 512Mb)
* Same DRAM bus width (x8 or x16)
* All either single-sided or dual-sided
* Matched in both Channel A and Channel B memory channels
* Populate symmetrical memory slots (Slot 0 or Slot 1)

I dont suggested pushing the speed above 166mhz but, that is your choice. It also depened on what motherboard your using due to each one has its own bios.

With outknowing whats all in your system, im sorry to say that all the information that i can give!
