I have a 2002 chrysler 300 M. i have never had a problem untill now. I have 2 power outlets that allow me to recharge two things at once. But all of sudden the 15amp fuse keeps blowing. Every time I put a new one in it blows out as soon as I plug my ipod or cell phone. Can anyone help me?

i own a repair shop, and its possible that the lighter inlet has worked its self loose just a little ,enough to break ground on it,and this will cause it to do this it will blow a fuse when you try and use it because its trying to draw more voltage than it can get, and this over powers the amperage for the fuse that is in there,so it blows it,i have a socket in my truck for charging things and it did this once on me also and all that was wrong with it,it was a little loose on it,after i tightened it up it has never blown a fuse since then, and that was over 3 years ago,but id look at it good and see for sure i think that will take care of it for you, good luck i hope this help,s.

There is something wrong with your ground or the charger. There is either an open on the circuit that is grounding out or the charger has an open circuit that is pulling too much juice.Have you checked the fuse's inside the charger's?Some charger's have a fuse on the side of the plug in.Look around the outside of the outlet,is there any metal contacting anywhere that it shouldn't be...like key's in the ashtray leaning against the outlet??
Look at the charger itself, they should get power from the pointed(rounded)end and ground from the clips on the side's,make sure these aren't touching or it will cause a blown fuse. Also make sure there isn't some tin-foil wrapper or something along those line's(any metal)inside the outlet..
If you can't find any problems then take it to someone that can use a DVOM or circuit tester to find the short in your outlet circuit.

Look in the outlets. You could have some junk in there that shorts it out when you plug something in.
You didn't say if both outlets are blowing the fuse. Ipods and cell phones both draw well under 1 amp.
It will be easy for a good electrician to track it down. He can stick an ohmmeter in the fuse contacts and track the short down without blowing fuses.
