We thought our newborn daughter had died during birth, but she turned out to be okay once they FINALLY got her breathing. Seeing her as she was handed to me, alive and kicking, was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. WHen she heard my voice, she stopped crying and stared deeply into my eyes. I think she recognized my voice.
