It was a disco song, that might not have been the name. You heard it alot in clubs.

Ozzy Ozborne did in 1988
Saxon did in 1982
The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band did in 1990
---they all did songs by the name, don't know what one you are loking for.
check out www.letssingit.com and under "song name" type in Fire in the Sky and it will show you 6 different people.

Well, I do recall two songs that might answer your question.

Deep Purple recorded "Smoke On The Water", which had the line "fire in the sky" (see link).

And the Marshal Tucker Band recorded "Fire On The Mountain" which might be close to what you're asking (see second link).

Ozzy Osbourne released a version in '89. Don't think I'd call it a dance song though. LOL

I like the version by the nitty gritty dirt band, a folk rock group. they also did an amazing job on mr. bojangles.
