Possible with the right charismatic figure, and propaganda machine behind them, plausible? Not any time soon.

No, such a thing would not be possible. The only way one can 'take over the world' is through subjugating other nations, and no country currently has the means to subjugate every other powerful nation, and cause the less powerful to acquiesce out of fear.
Yes, the United States has enough nuclear warheads to end civilisation as we know it, but destroying every other country does not constitute taking over them. What good is land to you if it is uninhabitable, unarable, and useless in every sense for the next few centuries?
Wars can't be won by air power alone, either. I doubt that any other nation would voluntarily abdicate their sovereignty to another power nowadays. The days of empires are long over.

Uhh No. I think too many people have different interests, so it would be extremely hard to get enough people to rally and take over the whole world. I know victory is much better than peace, but sometimes we have to settle for the peace. Enjoy it Live it. I just don't suggest to take over the world you would just create another war.

China may be the closest to achieving this by getting third world support and financial hooks in the US. Many European countries are lining up to join the EU, that concept could be expanded to cover the whole world.

if we wanted to take over the world , it would have been done a decade ago, obviously we dont want that and if we cant even rally rally full support in our back yard do you really think we can do world domination without a fight.....

Maybe some day but it will never last. People have to many different interests in life. Some one will kill the leader or have a revolution of some sort.

Yes, they're called Mexicans... they breed like crazy, they sneak under radar and then take over and make you feel that the word illegal immigration is really legal. And they will make a country adopt their language... Hola...oh my god they got to me.
