Sure thing, why not? Maybe if we learn to accept and love each other's religion and traditions people won't feel the need to kill each other for "religious" reasons. It's not easy to hate people who love you, and respect your religion.

We don't have to get rid of Bank Holidays. And yes, I've celebrated Hindu and Sikh festivals now and again, but mostly Muslim festivals, and Chinese New Year.
Leicester puts up the street decorations for Diwali and keeps them there for Christmas. Why make such a fuss?

Too much holidays everywhere. The right solution would be for each country to come up with the number of weekday holidays it wants (or it can afford), then plot in the holidays they want to observe. If the list is too long (for example, 20 holidays listed for 12 allocated weekdays), then it may be cut by joining some holidays together. Some holidays will be varied days each year, such as Eid'l'Fitr (I think I spelled it wrong) and even lunar new year, but they can be set centuries in advance if they're based on the moon.
Your country has lots of heroes? Allot one day for the main hero, and a National Heroes Day for everyone else.
If possible, observe holidays on Mondays so it's guaranteed to be a long weekend.

I'd join in the Hindu festivals, certainly. In fact, I think most people would probably enjoy them too. Off hand, I see no real reason not to do so for the Muslim and Sikh ones either, but don't really know enough to give an opinion either way on their festivals, and have issues with their theology that might detract me from enjoying it too much.

It is an ongoing practice in several civilised societies, already; Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, Christian alike. I was shown a postage stamp, issued by US PostOffice, to celebrate Muslim-Eid ul Fitr, a postage stamp issued by Pakistan on the centenary of a Christian Institution; the India's Prime Minister, President, Governors etc. invite Muslims to break the Fast; in Pakistan similar Govt.Officials invite NonMuslim representatives on their religious days like Christmas; Sikh Maharajas used to hold special court on the day of Muharram. The examples are far too many to quote all...! This world is not short of sensible rulers. Thanksgiving is due *** Let us do it

I am all for equality in celebrating different religious festivals, however I would love to see more people celebrating ancient Celtic festivals, at least in the Celtic nations of Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Cornwall. Let's start bringing back the festivals of our ancestors before embracing the festivals of the present.

i know I'm gonna get a violation for this but what the hell...Britain has had bank holidays long before the Muslims ..hindus..sikhs or any other nation started living here..so this being our country why should we have to change our traditions and holidays to suit the people who have chosen to live on shores...the Muslims don't celebrate Christmas as we do so shall we put that holiday in the bin...this is our nation ..our traditions..our holidays..if you want to live in the UK you will have to learn to live with bank holidays we have...should we move to Iran and start putting up Christmas trees...if any one living on our great island don't want to stay ..you know where the airports are...we will miss you..NOT

there is no longer something incorrect in helping someone or animal in want, in truth it is an fairly commendable kindness. Jesus Christ once informed of someone being robbed alongside the way replaced into beaten and replaced into left 0.5 lifeless. a clergyman replaced into on his way at the same time as he said the bleeding guy, replaced route and persisted on his way. yet another non secular guy got here, a Levite (clergyman) went close yet did not raise any finger to help, then went his way. The third guy to come back replaced right into a Samaritan, an outcast and recognized by technique of Jews as lawless. The Samaritan replaced into quickly moved in compassion, on the instantaneous, he anointed the injuries with oil, bind them and he delivered the guy to interior of reach hostel or inn. before leaving, the Samaritan surpassed the innkeeper sufficient volume of money to cover the prices or perhaps promised to pay however is due at the same time as he comes decrease back. on the top of the myth, Jesus requested his target market, "Who do you imagine did the right element?" Jesus taught, love your fellow guy as you want your human being. besides, "LOVE YOUR ENEMY", "PRAY when you PERSECUTE YOU" If Christians are to love and pray when you damage them, how a lot extra for those weak, needy and unable to damage all of us?

I would like to agree but fear that certain minority mouthpeices would see it as capitulation on our part and push us further into their way of life. Sadly I can't beleive that everyone would take it in the right spirit.
Nice idea if we lived in an ideal world.
