Nah.
I am the architect of my own life, and I've hammered out my own fortunes and misfortunes.
And I've never been a victim, either.
I've deserved all the worst times in my life, and I've worked hard and long to make all the best.
Destiny can kiss my ar$e - I will have no part of it :o)

Why don't you try being more upbeat? Stop looking at your destiny in such a negative light. And if you're hanging out with people who are depressed, non-motivating and hates everything about the world, cut their as*ses loose! Now if you have a mental illness, I would suggest medication. Because your words read very depressing. That sh/t can be fixed! It seems to me that I had been around the world and back again and I'm telling you, I don't know if you believe in a higher being or not, but sweetie, you better find something to believe in. Because after depression sets in to a point, then you're looking at being suicidal. Don't let sh/t get you down. Personal problems nor financial problems. Put you problems into prayer and then let it go. And I mean do this constantly! You would so amazed on how things will brighten up for you. And that's about all I can write except that I'll say a prayer for you.
Take care of yourself!

Humans have the ability to reason and make their own decisions so the idea that we are controlled by fate seems like an outdated idea that was based on mythology and just lack of understanding. I mean every thing that you have ever done in your life has brought you to this moment and if you want to be somewhere else in your life, only you have the power to make that change. If you live life believing that fate has the upperhand then yes you are going to get screwed over in the end because that most likely means that you will not take charge and bring forth the changes that will make you happy and will most likely take a backseat when you should be the driver...We only live life once and what kind of life you lead is entirely up to you...Good luck:) Peace.

Don't think of myself as a "victim of fate" rather I consider myself a victim of my own choices, and a sum of them.
I agree with the concept of "free will" and honestly think that my decisions in life are what have brought me where I am currently. Fate has led to the crossroads where I've had to choose "this" over "that" but I still have had the opportunity to choose (even if the options were less than desirable).
You can be a victim, but you do not have to remain one. There is a great deal of power in that choice.

Okay...I'm answering this with some lyrics...for two reasons...I was listening to this song when I read the question, and because it just seems to fit as an answer.
Well, I was only a kid, cruising around in a trance
Prisoner of fate, victim of circumstance
I was lined up for glory, but the tickets sold out in advance
The way the big wheel spins
Well, I was only a kid, gone without a backward glance
Going for broke, going for another chance
Hoping for heaven - hoping for a fine romance
If I do the right dance
Rush - The Big Wheel

hmmm... victim seems helpless to me... so i would have to say no... i'm not a victim of my own fate... i have hard a harder life then some... drug addiction, abusive relationship, jail, prison, and rehabs... but... i'm clean from the substance.. have been for 3 years... i'm not in the abusive relationship... i have a very healthy one as a matter of fact... getting married in spring... I have been out of the DOC system for 4 years... so i have to say no i'm not a victim to my fate... but... i do believe fate does play a roll in ones life... they way i think of it... is fate has thrown some things at me... but i always have a choice... and if i didn't go through what i went through i wouldn't be who i am today... man i hope i made sense... and you understand my points

I grew up believeing in destiny...and I miss having that feeling of...Its Fate..Its Destiny..because I myself lately have seen what I am now and I am disappointed that fate and destiny let me down.
I can't figure out how to get back to being so positive that there is someone awaiting me down the road.
Its sad..isn't it.

No, I have never felt like a victim. I thought of myself as a survivor for many years and then thought, "Phooey on that!" I mean to live while I'm alive - I'm an overcomer.

I just learned about this.....you have an external locus of control. A lot of people just think that their life is predetermined and nothing they do will change what will happen to them. These people are just afraid to take control of their life because they are afraid of failing. It's easier to belive that they are destined for something.
