I never thought of Halloween as a way to open our homes to strangers! That's really lovely!
I celebrate by hosting a costume party for all of my friends and their friends. My husband and I decorate, make costume, prepare food, and entertainment. We usually request that everyone brings a dish to pass so it's very communal.

Well, I am dressing up for the first time ever in my life for Halloween LOL My 4 yr old son and I are going as pirates. We will trick or treat at a local outlet mall that's fun and safe, then we'll spend most of the night at a local festival sponsored by local churches, full of music, food, face painting, bouncers, and of course, CANDY! Lots of fun to hang out with friends, and the kids have a blast.

Nothing too much fun...decorate the house a bit and pass out candy to trick or treaters.
I make fresh pumpkin pie (it rocks, try it), but that's about it for special foods. I imagine I'll get more into the holiday once my baby is born and old enough to appreciate it all.

Unfortunitly I am working halloween night, but I was thinking if I have to dress up for anything I'm gonna wear a green shirt, some brown jeans. I already have a goatee. Now all I need is a stuffed Scooby-Doo.
Yep I want to go as Shaggy
BUT!!!! I am going to go to Howl-O-Scream at Bush Gardens in Tampa next friday. I hear it is scary as #^%%^ It's going to be awesome!

I´m from Mexico and we usally (young people) make a custom party where we only have snacks and drinks and dancing, some decorate their houses but not necessarily.
Elder people use to go to the cemetery to visit their death relatives, the light candles and some would also take the death´s favourite meats and drinks.

I like to make treats for my kids, we always go trick or treating. Sometimes we(the parents) dress up too. A big group of my family likes to tag along for the trick or treating because of where we go. Snohomish Washington has some very old victorians all in one large area, and it makes for a spooky trick or treating experience beacuse of the houses themselves, and how the owners decorate.
