Two reasons I can think of.
1. He wanted to masturbate very badly.
2. He didn't want to have sex with you.
The first one is fairly self explanatory. Maybe he was tired after he did (the male orgasm releases a chemical that encourages sleep afterwards for reasons I'm uncertain of) and just valued sleep over sex.
The second sounds like it has more probability. I'd have to know a little more about your sex life with him to be able to answer in full, but you should ask him about it, not some strangers across the world.

Guys need information that you are willing especially if you make it a habit to shut him down. Jerking off is a way of "handling it yourself". If a guy gets shut down often enough he gives up and yanks his own crank.

Maybe your bf is embarrassed.What an **** for not being up for it when he came to bed.Perhaps you should try something different,away from the bedroom.If that doesn't work find someone who wants to have sex with you.There is no point in just waiting around until it happens.Make it happen...

Maybe hes nervous about having sex. is he a virgin? And maybe he pleasures himself when your in the other room cause you did something that turned him on. So find out if hes a virgin and that could be the reason.

Well, perhaps he's too selfish to want to "give" to you. This way he is able to pleasure himself while not bothering you. I would be concerned that he may be cheating on you, as this could be a fantasy that he has with another woman and not you.
