Everything born of duality inherits the quality of dualism. That is, all things of this world, and the ‘other world’, have a dual nature. Thus, it can be stated that something which is seen can also be unseen, and that which is unseen can be seen. That which is known can be unknown, and that which is unknown can be known.

If someone tells you that they have seen a spirit or ghost, is it really possible? If they see a ghost but you do not, does the ghost really exist or not? The ghost may really exist in their mind but not in yours. Similarly, someone can deliberately imagine a ghost exists, but really know it does not, but can still convince you that it does. Now the ghost really exists in your mind but not in the mind of the other. As you can see, whether the ghost exists or not depends only on whether or not the mind perceives it.

As stated earlier, all created things have a dual nature. Thus, we can say that if someone sees a ghost but someone else does not, then it can be stated that a ghost can be seen and the ghost cannot be seen. The evidence of the existence of the ghost is real in the mind of the one who perceives the ghost. This perception is a perception of the mind only, and the mind (which by its very nature has the quality of duality) can perceive correctly or incorrectly; that is, its perception may be true or false. The nature of perception, whether true perception or false perception, can only be grasped by that which is distinct from the mind—and that is pure consciousness.

One whose consciousness is pure will not have a distorted perception and will be able to distinguish between what is real and what is unreal.

Yes, they do exist and yes I have seen them. They look very much like what shows portray. They can be orbs of light, fog cloud, invisible, just an outline or a real looking person.
Ghosts are nothing to fear. They can not hurt you but they can try to scare you. Humans have free will and ghosts are drawn to those that are fearful. If you are not afraid of them they will not bother you. Tell them to leave and they must.

A ghost is a persons soul that did not make the trip to the other side (heaven). They got trapped on this plane. When you die your soul follows the white light which directs it to God and the life beyond our realm. If the soul elects not to follow this light (maybe wants to stay close to a child or husband) it wanders around the spot where it died or where it lived. There are many many lost souls. Some mediums spend their lives sending these poor souls off to the light (heaven). A local medium in my city is the president of a group that does just that, they send souls to the light.
If you know a ghost, you can send him to the light too.

yes they do. But there are several types of haunting. One of the most common is called a residual haunting. The "ghosts" in a residual haunting move about as if on a video loop. These "spirits" are not aware of any changes made to the location, or of the people around it. I tend to follow the school of thought that these may actually be energy imprints of an event left in the atmosphere of the location. There are actual ghosts whose spirits still reside on the earthly plane. It is thought that many of these spirits were confused or in a great amount of pain at their death and are not aware that they are dead. They will sometimes interact with people, and will even mock them or play pranks on them. Ghosts can be seen in many different ways. It is rare to see them where they look like a human, you are more likely to see shadow people out of the corner of your eye or see them as orbs. If you look back over your old photos, you will most likely see some orbs. It is also possible to hear ghosts on tape through what are called evps. Ghosts are also not like they are portrayed in the movies. They have personalities like they had in life. There was a spirit is my old house and I was not the only one who saw it and felt it. It did not bother me just made my guests a little edgey. When I saw ( which was once, I felt it more and it moved my stuff all the time) it was a tall man in a black trench coat and a very old fashioned dressy hat standing in a doorway to the hallway and a cool feeling was always in that area. I wish I could have seen his face. Sometimes I think he protected me & my house because when other houses were burglarized, mine wasn't. When peoples pumpkins were smashed mine wasn't. When peoples cars were keyed mine wasn't. I also found a picture of a boy in an OLD baseball uniform standing by a calender in the kitchen. I can't make out the year but it does look like the 20's. One day after hearing footsteps and being scared to death I said "Look, please don't scare the daylights out of me, I can't move from here yet and I pay the mortgage here, i'm also making it nice by painting the rooms....lets just get along.. OK?" funny but true

I know ghosts exist. Seeing is believing. In photographs swirls of light, called ORBS, are ghosts. On my sons wedding day, a bright swirl of light was visible, always very near my son as he took his vows and kissed his bride, visible in many pics the photographer took that day. Sometime later a few orbs hovered near photos of his newborn.Perhaps these are relatives that were not able to be physically able to attend these important events. I got a good, warm and loving feeling when i saw these swirls of light in the photos.I have also worked in bars where most people could feel a certain forboding or heavy feeling around them. Photos taken in the bar at birthday celebrations, and especially Halloween, revealed sinister ungodly spectors. You could see skulls with sunken indentations where eyes should be...what are these? Either demons or energy left by evil types of humans. For sure, those evil looking images are not alive, but what their origin was, i dont know if they were ever human. In the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel,in LA, there is a large mirror near the elevator on the first floor. Many people report seeing Marilyn Monroes refection in the mirror.In San Pedro calif, there is a preserved mansion where the founder of Los Angeles, Banning,lived with his large family over 1oo years ago.During the tour you are told some rooms are closed to the public because they are "family" rooms. When pictures are developed a very clear image of a young boy looking out through parted curtains is visible. You discover this six year old died in that room with complications of a childhood disease when he lived there about a century ago. There are so many places, many public, that ghosts appear in the United Stastes. Why they havent crossed over to the other side remains unknown to me.A few days after my father in law died, his laughter could be heard with the laughter of perhaps his wife who had preceeded him in death, in the house they had shared for many years until death had separated them. There is so much still unkown, perhaps we will never know the answers to these mysteries.

Sounds like most of the answerers watch too much TV! Ok, here's the straight deal" ghosts exist, but not like the kind you see in movies and such. They do not look like people, and do not intervene in personal affairs. What we call ghosts are actually energy fields; they are the remaining residue of someone who once lived, since we are driven by spiritual energy; what some call the soul.
The so-called ghosts eminate from the energy of people who didn't have quite enough soul, or spiritual energy to eveolve to the next level of existence, so they are stuck here.
These energy fields will one day be able to be measured by scientific intstruments, and we'll then find that that, like I say, ghosts are actually a scientific occurence.

I really do think ghosts exist, yes they look like humans except that the human body is dead but their spirit is still alive. And that ghosts can go through anything including walls.

Scientifically, there's not much to prove their existence. There's not much to disprove it, either ...

For a minute, I'm going to assume that they exist. I think they'd look like humans. I do agree that movies and TV shows exxagerate them.

Then again, people have had experiences with ghosts and the like. I wouldn't dismiss the whole idea as a hoax ...

It looks like I'm in two minds on the issue. *is confused*

Me personally, i think it's just superstition. But there are people that believe in ghosts. I saw a TV show about ghost hunters and they actually had a ghost on camera but i bet they worked with some kind of tricks...

I belive they exist but they dont show their self too much as far about what they look like i guess like translicent humans
