I need to know the advantages and disadvantages of joining a gang.
Plz help. Oh, and this is for a school project.

Advantages....I cant think of any.
Reasons not to join.
1. YOU CAN GET KILLED!
The gang lifestyle is deadly! It’s not a fad or fashion show. You immediately make enemies when you join a gang. The power struggle that exists between gangs eventually leads to murder. Don’t be the next victim!
2. YOU CAN GO TO PRISON FOR LIFE!
The gang life consists of criminal activity. That makes you a target of law enforcement officials. Eventually, you will end up in prison, a place where gang activity flourishes. Your enemies surround you behind prison walls. There is no peace or rest for gang members in prison. Remember, no one is guaranteed to leave prison alive, so stay free!
3. YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS CAN BE HURT OR KILLED!
Retaliation and revenge are directly associated with gang activity. Rival gang members will hurt; even kill your family members if they can not get to you. When you join a gang you are jeopardizing the lives of your family. Protect your loved ones, do not place them in harms way!
4. INNOCENT PEOPLE GET KILLED!
Stray bullets during drive by shootings have to hit something. Most commonly, they hit and kill your children. Save lives, do not take them. We only have one life to live.
5. YOU DESTROY YOUR COMMUNITIES!
Gang activity only adds to the negative cycle which destroys our communities. Build your communities. Do not destroy them. Children must have a safe haven to grow. Families must be able to live in a peaceful environment, to enjoy their lives. No one has the right to bring death and destruction into the communities. That’s exactly what gangs do!

Don't do it. There aren't any advantages. You'll ruin your life and set yourself up for failure. I couldn't imagine worrying about my safety every minute of the day. How would your family feel if they knew you were in a gang? What if you get killed, or hurt? Why do you want to be in a gang?That life is dangerous. I really don't think you should involve yourself with the madness. Do something positive with your life. Surround yourself with positive people. Go to school get an education. Go to college join a fraternity or something. Whatever you decide to do just don't join a gang. Keep your head up. You may feel like these people will treat you good and be there for you when no one else won't, but it's definitely not worth it. Rely on your family and talk to someone. People care about you. Don't join K?

there are no advantages. if you're thinking of joinin a gang then think again, you only get into a lot of sh*t and your whole is then f*cked up. dont join it, it doesnt make you cool, just a fool who gave his life away. from experience and knowing people that have joined gangs i can honestly say that being in a gang leaves you with nothin. trust me i know you'll go the right way!
Just think, they're not gonna be there for you like the ones that really care for you.
Lookin at ur myspaz i realised that ur a very ... well u seem like an intelligent and down to earth good person. dont go into a gang, ur a great person as u are now.

First off, your name doesn't even suit you, "Wizdom"? Don't do it homie, there no advantages and disadvantages of joining a gang. Seems like you are being pressured to do it, you are young and have a whole life a head of you. Think about what your doing to your own life and your family. All your doing is bringing a negative environment in your life. Think of the words: blood, death, jail,
beaten, scared, crying, etc. and then make your decision.

Short life expectancy. Short life expectancy for all the boys who are in the gang with you. Getting hooked on drugs & dealing drugs which could cause short life expectancy. Having to answer to the leader of the gang no matter what, which could cause short life expectancy. Carrying weapons around and using them which could cause short life expectancy. Being in a street gang isn't really a friendly situation. There really aren't any advantages. You are more likely to go to prison if you are in a street gang. If you think dieing young & leaving a beautiful corpse is cool, then I think you should be in a street gang.

I hope you have no intention of joining a gang...you really don't need to do this....there are other ways to earn respect....if you join a gang you have to go along with what the rules are,,, i tell you your life will only be heading one way...and that's a life in hell, and in prison. there are no advantages...people use the excuse that this is the only way to get respect....ask yourself by putting the fear of God into someone getting respect?...no their just afraid, and you will become hated, hunted, and hopefully not dead.

You strike me as being intelligent...at least enough to think about the consequences of joining a gang. Most gangs feel like you're in for life. Is that the life you want? Violence, hatred, being held back, maybe jail or death. I really pray that you will get a higher education and seek to move up in life. Don't believe that you can't, I know you can if you have respect for yourself and believe in your ability to accomplish better things for yourself. Gangs are a dead end, please don't join one.

Gang life is just bad news all around. Sure you have freinds you can have freinds without being in a gang.. you can hang out anytime youw ant and it dont have to be about drugs and whos on the right side of the street...you dont have to carry a gun when ou have regular freinds you don thave to watch your back because you have regular freinds. regular friends wont turn you in to save there own *** because they wouldnt be involved with something that could get you turned in. Do you really wanna carry a gun around nad m aybe shoot innocent people in a drive by? thats not cool anyway around you really need to think about is that worth jeporidizing your butt hole in the pin!
dont listen to any of these nasty hoe girls on here there all i wanna date you cause your in a gang..there the same hoes screwing the other gang getting beef started...

why would you want to join a gang? i'm sure it's a short lived career right up there with vikings and pirates. why don't you get an education or a job? with either of those perhaps you could help kids of barely legal age to not spend the rest of their lives in jail for shooting up a bodega.

there are no advantages to joining a gang unless it's the army or the police force.. they're the only two gangs that exist that are worthwhile... you only get one shot at life why waste it taking the wrong route.....
