my mom went out with her friends last weekend, and a couple of college age guys were hitting on her and they gave her thier number, name, and e-mail address.... well, she is married, and has 4 kids, she wants nothing to do with him. so she gave it to me... i think jokingly.... i texted the guy on my phone... and we are becoming friends... but how do i say anything to my mom, when a couple of days later i mentioned the number, and she said to throw it away.... am i techinically going behind her back??? the guy and i are 8 years apart, and i am in a rather strong relationship right now.. so there is nothing like that going on.... what should i do.... (he's 24, im 16.... can we just be friends, and what will my mom say...)

I think, at your age, no you can't be his friend. You mom knows this, that's why she told you to throw the number away. Going behind her back, yes. She basically told you not to talk to the dude. Listen to your mother. She knows best, I promise.

If you become friends, one thing might lead to another and this guy can end up in prison. And your mom would freak out, I would assume. Stick to teens.
