Try putting an object in front of the mirror an see if it looks the same in the mirror as when you look at it.
There is your answer.

in a mirror the left and right side are reversed (if you look in the mirror and close your right eye, the mirror image closes what should be it's left eye). So a mirror image won't show you exactly how you look like, as most people are slightly asymmetric, even in their face.
But as somebody earlier said: take a photograph and look at the image and you will see yourself as other people see you.
You can also videotape yourself and watch the video. Actually, if you include sound of you talking, you may notice that there is a clearer difference in how you sound to other people than how you look to other people. Sound of you talking travels through bones to your ear in addition to the air, making yourself sound different to you than to anybody else.

You can look in the mirror, dummy, but what I think you are trying
to get at is when you are dealing/talking with other people you have no idea what your face looks like. The expressions and the
feelings shown through these expressions can only be seen by
those looking at your face.

Good point, is a mirror an accurate representation? Or a photograph for that matter? I think it is though because when we look at someone else in a photo, they look just like they do in real life so we must do too!
