I am having a costume contest. I need activity ideas. Games or icebreakers just to get the guests mingling.

Also...this is a party of 25-35ish year olds. I am having appetizers and a keg so a group drinking game would go over well.....

As long as you have good food and music, that's all you really need. Activities aren't necessary, especially if your group isn't normally into that kind of thing. Eating, dancing (if you are having this at all) and mingling is a good mix that you can't go wrong.

Since you are having alcohol, you need hearty appetizers (like what they have at the frozen section at Costco) rather than finger sandwiches and cheese trays, the latter of which will not do much to soak up alcohol.

Well, you could have a costume contest with categories like most original and sexiest costume for starters. Then you could have dodging for body parts and get some fake bloody fingers and ears and things like that.

You could ask people not to reveal their identities and have a contest and ask people who they think is wearing a certain costume and then make everyone reveal who they are at the same time. And the people that get it right get a small prize. But make the prize fun like the men get naked women playing cards and the woman gets naked man playing cards, or whatever you want.

You could also have your guests act out famous scenes in famous movies like Dracula, Phantom of the Opera and thngs like that. Have copies of what they should say and cheap masks for them to put on. Everyone will get a good laugh!

1. Bobbing for apples, it might sound lame to some people, but it is really very fun.

2. Pin the devil tail on your choice of the Pope, President, Dictator, Terrorist, Boss, Mother-in-law...

3. Deviled egg eating contest

4. Music and Dancing, include a few barn dances...

5. Award the best costume by vote at the climax of the party.

For sure best costume, split it into categories, like scariest, sexiest etc. Then you could have Rocky Horror Picture Show playing in the background, serve nice Hors devores that are Halloween themed. You could set up a game of spades or some other board games...

At the entrance, put 3 empty buckets (one should be divided in half). As your guests arrive, have them put their house keys in one, their car keys in the second and their wedding rings in the divided (male/female) last bucket. After the party, have everybody pick rings and match up new couples. then have 1 part of the new couple pick the house key and the other part of the new couple pick the car key.

THAT'S mingling!

Pinatas are great for all ages. It's also great to see adults scamper for candy. Make it yourself so it doesn't break open too easily though!

Hire belly dancers! Many can go a Goth show for you.

How about a slave auction.

That doesn't have to be too "adult," but it can be if that's what you're going for. How adult are we talking?
