Police are trained to aim at the biggest target area, which is the chest because when in a stress situation their aim is affected by adrenaline.

If shots needs to be taken they are to stop the threat not to kill.

I've seen video where a bad guy was shot in the leg and it had no effect. My grandpa told me about a guy having a full blast from a .50 cal machine gun and the guy kept coming.

If you have to shoot you don't waste round in case you miss you might not get a second, plus if they miss there is a possibility for an innocent person to get hit.

Then if they are unfortunate enough to have been issued a 9 mm (the .40 S& W isn't much better) they are going to have to empty the magazine into the bad guy just to stop him.

I like what Ron White talks about in "You Can't fix Stupid" sketch.

Cops in LA gun battle couldn't hit squat, It was laughable my kid could shoot better with his 22 and he doesn't even hunt. Shoot them in the HEAD!!! .
if more cops took the tact of Take no prisoners this world would be a much safer place.

If someone has a gun pointed at you, you should not take chances, take him OUT.
Its a p*ssy world that thinks just wounding someone will fix the problem, shoot to kill and the likelihood a violent offender getting out on parole diminishes substantial.. IN this p*ssy world we think somehow giving criminals and thugs a second chance to offends makes us better.

I prefer old style western justice. Dead and justice served over alive and the high probability the scum will offend again.

Anyone that uses a pistol for their job is trained to aim center mass armpit level. This gives you the best chance of hitting and disabling the target. I think that Cops use deadly force oftentimes in situations that they shouldn't be, but if you are going to shoot someone, you don't shoot to wound, you shoot to kill.

Cops are trained to aim for the center of a person's mass (their chest) so they have the least chance to miss.

They will always shoot to kill; better that you die than them. They are all trained to do so and they are justified to kill anyone pointing a gun at them.

It would be nice, if they could be sure it would control the situation. But then the lawyers would just come in and sue and shut down all the police and the city...

its too hard to aim for the limbs and if they get the hip the person could bleed to death, the caliber they use is usally not ment to be very lethal
