There are so many possible reasons, we need a lot more information. It could be something simple like not enough RAM, or something more serious like a mobo defect:

- When does it freeze (during boot up, after the op sys loads, when you are using a particular program, etc)?
- Does it "unfreeze" itself after a period of time, or do you have to do something to get it running again?
- Have you added anything to your computer recently, either hardware or software?
- How old is the computer?
- What op sys?
- What processor?
- How much RAM are you using?

Please provide as much info as you can.

Dear bro,
One possibility is that ur systen is crammed with whole lot of unnecessary software which u oftenly dnt run.

The other strong possibility will be that of spyware, trojans n viruse which I also have faced in the recent paced but Its gone now. My suggestion for you

Since ur compu may be full of varied kind of Trojans and viruses, getting rid of them is the only feasible and long term solution that u must go for
In my opinion,
Restart ur computer in the safe mode(Press F5 repeatedly when it restarts, it will take to to the option for the safe mode)
Then scan ur computer for
1. Viruses (I suggest Norton AntiVirus updated version)
2. Spywares (I suggest Lavasoft's Adware updated version)

This is waht I have done...
If u want to download any of the following software,Download from here
http://www.download-googlesearch.blogspot.com/

It offers u free
1. Norton AntiVirus 2005 Special Edition - Antivirus utility by Symantec
2. Ad-Aware SE Personal - Antispyware utility by Lavasoft
3. Google Talk - Voice and IM application ·
4. RealPlayer (with this u can listen music online free of cost)
5. Mozilla Firefox with Google Toolbar
6. Google Earth - 3D Earth browser (with the help of this one can see his/her hideout, ha ah!!)
7. Adobe Reader 7 - PDF readerAdobe Systems (latest version of PDF reader)
And many other essential software which I thing everybody shud have in his/her system.

So downlload all the essential software with the pack. Im sure u will and all others will be benefitted by downloading this pack.

Best of Luck!!!!

Perhaps you have a virus. Or you need a new PC. If you are unplugging it or turning it off when it freezes, wait 5 whole minutes to restart to let everything turn completely off.

1. Might be a virus or spyware
2. May need more disk space
3. May need more memory
4. May need a faster processor
5. Could be a corrupt driver

There's probably more than that, but those were the ones that were off the top of my head.

If your computer hangs or reboots while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software. This problem can be solved by uninstalling new softwares, updating device drivers and making minor configuration changes. Detailed instructions at http://tinyurl.com/yk5zpr

There could be multiple reasons for this to happen and would need more information to pinpoint the problem.

maybe it's cold and needs a blankie wrapped around it. Then it won't freeze anymore. Or turn up the thermostat!
