I would have attempted to contact my best friend and if I have received no reply, I would just let it go for a while.

I would wait or send the mail again
may be he's busy with something and not able to reply.
i would try to know what's the matter with him rather than complaining about him.That's how friendship is..

I would need to know more about the situation. Do you think that your best friend is mad at you? Do you think that your best friend is in danger or sick?
If they are mad then you just need to chill out for a while and wait for them to contact you.
If they are in danger then you need to find a way to go see about them.

talk to her/him and see whats going on and if they dont talk to you still just give them some time and if they really your best friend theyll come around
