It is always better when the Yanks are in it. And we would like nothing better than to whoop up on the Mets again.

I first predicted that the 2006 World Series was going to be a Subway Series and I never predicted a rematch of 1968. If the 2006 World Series was the Yankees vs. the Mets, I do not see the game being too popular but if would been good for New York Baseball.

Absolutely not...who wants an all New York series unless you're from New York? The Cardinals deserve to be in the World Series--they EARNED the right to be there! The Cardinals also have some very exciting players, as do the Detroit Tigers. I wouldn't watch the World Series if it were just New York teams! Besides, George Steinbrenner has put his negative mark on baseball forever by overpaying players for years.

Would you rather watch two spoiled rich kids through money at each other or watch an actual fight between two great competitors?
That's why a Yankees-Mets series sucks except for people in Ny. And guess what? There's a whole other section of the country. Yeah! You're not the only ones!
Get over it.

Being a die-hard Yankees fan of course I would love seeing the Yankees playing in the World Series. I always love the older teams with rich tradition playing in the series much more than the Rockies, Marlins, Diamondbacks, or Angels. But I have to admit watching the Cardinals and the Tigers will have that great tradition. Both teams stretch back to the earliest days of baseball with names like Ty Cobb, Bob Gibson, Stan Musial, Denny McClain, Al Kaline, Tim McCarver, Curt Flood, Bill Freehan, and many others. I look forward to a good one. Even though I would love the Cardinals repeating 1982 with a victory I fear it will be Detroit in 6.

For New Yorkers, maybe.
The problem is that NY teams have a high yawn factor outside the greater NY area.
STL and DET are not major media markets, but with Detroit's rags-to-riches story, I think it'll have more play in the other markets - better than a NYY-NYM series.

Only someone from NY would ask that question,This year you have 2 teams with great fan base,Mid-western blue collar hard working, down to earth, GOD fearing, baseball loving towns that are happy to be there. No matter who comes out on top in the WS and are crowned WORLD CHAMPIONS of BASEBALL, this is going to be a great matchup.
both Managers are BASEBALL is LIFE- type managers, not to mention friends. Jim Leyland was a scout for the CARDINALS before taking the job in DETROIT. So I guess my answer would be NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hell no!
It wouldn't have been way better to see the Twins vs. the Cards. The best pitcher against the best batter would have been good to see.
Johan vs. Pujols
