Is it because of the World Series?

Yes the NFL will not go against the World Series for ratings and the history of baseball.

Andy it is not that the NFL would or would not get better ratings. It is out of respect for the teams who made it and the history of baseball. The NFL does not want to steal ratings from baseball as does the NHL and NBA when the Superbowl is on there are no games.

Any kind of championship game in the major American sports (baseball, basketball, football) will trump any kind of regular season game. That's just the way it is. And even though more people MAY watch Sunday night football than they would a World Series game, it's also up to the networks. ESPN is the leader in sports, PERIOD, so who are they to go up against the World Series? They aren't going to mess with tradition. And who says that a regular season football game will have better marketability?!? I rank the World Series only second to the Super Bowl in marketability on a yearly basis. And especially with two teams that haven't won in awhile, I have a feeling a good number of people will be tuning in.

there isnt?!.....I guess that means extra time to write the report I've been putting off.....

I cannot comprehend how baseball is "bigger" than football in America. Personal opinion aside (baseball is boring, football is more fast paced --and they don't need a series of games, they play as hard as they can in the ONE game they get), football is much more commercialized that baseball, so you'd think it would get better ratings
