I dreamt that I met this girl but I did not know her. I knew that I loved her and wanted to be with her, the time we spent together was very powerful Like we were supposed to be together. When I woke up I was very sad, I felt a overwhelming sense of loss. When I go to bed at night I hope we find eachother again... What does this mean?

You encountered the anima or "beloved" archetype, which is an expression of the positive feminine characteristics within yourself. You felt lonely because you are disconnected from those aspects of your personality.

Rather than fantasizing that you can find the beloved without, or embodied in another person, it is better to embody those characteristics within yourself. Looking for it in other people will only lead you on an endless wild goose chase of projection and misguided relationships. If you can embody it in yourself, however, you'll be a more confident and well-adjusted person; you'll project that aura of well-being; and you'll be able to have a fulfilling relationship with an independent woman.

To address your situation directly, you need to work on yourself so that you don't have to go to sleep to find her--you should carry her within you always. She is you.

If you've seen my answers to other similar questions, then you know that I think that individual dream interpretation is so-much nonsense (as opposed to dream analysis combined with Freudian therapy).
Essentially, anybody can say anything about this dream and the reality is it's only a dream! Unless it's recurring, the sense of loss and hope to go back into the dream is very common after this type of satisfying dream.
As I've said here before, if you take Psych 101, you'll learn that dreams are :Combinations of memories long past, recent memories, and projections into the future. That's it. I think if you use that definition, your dream is fairly self explanatory!

REM sleep is characterized by rapid eye movement. This period of sleep is when most vivid dreams occur and the dreamer is able to recall the dream. This REM sleep is a very deep, restorative sleep that on an average, occurs about 120 minutes each night for a young adult. It was once thought what was on your mind or in your thoughts near bedtime would manifest in dreams you experienced during sleep. For instance, if you had a disagreement with someone that needed resolution, perhaps during sleep you would repeatedly dream and be aggitated by the disagreement you experienced earlier. One of the fascinating things about dreams is that they can provide and answer, or solution, Dreams often provide resolution to what you cant figure out during wakeful hours, Your dream could personally reflect your desire for your perfect mate. Dreams can also be a door to the ASTRAL PLANE where your perfect mate DOES exist. Please read up on Astral Projection and Lucid Dreams,Its a whole new world!

You may find your dream girl soon! Go to a psychic, that may help. Understand this, based upon the knowledge I have of the Human mind, the mind makes the dreams, even though we don't always no how they will turn out. The unconscious mind tells us what we may want in our heads. So, it is possible that you really will find the love of your life someday. See it further if this is what you really desire.

It means that you are ready for a relationship, and you long for connection with someone of the opposite sex.

When that happens....don't get all caught up in "is she the one" like this "soul mate" you find in your dream.

You really just want attachment. Let whoever you are involved with be who they are, or you will cause failure before it even begins.

It just expresses your longing to find that ideal person. I have had such a dream many years ago. Longing can be cruel, but only if you let it control your life. Have confidence in yourself, and you will find that ideal woman of your dreams sooner than you think.

It would seem that you have many years ahead of you, which gives you more than enough time to meet her.

That literally means you are lonely and you are seeking for close relationship.

Projecting a make believe girl symbolizes the need of companionship that you are seeking now. In other words, in reality, you are in need of love.

There is no need for long interpretation for this dream

Very gripping stuff. You probably just had a recent, very painful break-up. If you are single and have been for sometime, it means you strongly feel you are ready to settle down.
